Many factors affect to the growth of independent study, namely:
1. Open to every opportunity to learn, learning is essentially not limited by time, place and age
2. Having learned the concept of self as an effective citizen, someone who has the self-concept means always perceive positively about learning and always seek good learning results
3. Initiative and feel free in the learning, the initiative is a boost that comes from a person without being influenced by someone else, someone who has the initiative to learn not need to be stimulated to learn.
4. Having a love of learning, making learning as part of a human life begins from the emergence of awareness, familiarity and love of learning.
5. Creativity. According Supardi (1994), creativity is one's ability to give birth to something new, either in the form of ideas and real work, which is relatively different from what existed previously.
Characteristic of one's own creative behaviors such as dynamic, brave, resourceful, hard work and free. For someone who is creative, do not be afraid or scared to do something along that do contain meaning.
6. Oriented to the future
Someone who has a future orientation to the view that the future will not contain an uncertainty.
7. Ability to use basic learning skills and solve problems.
